Premier Fire Doors can help you bring your fire door records into one connected digital system using a fire door management technology.
We arrange the on-site installation and activation of unique RFID Data Pins, linking individual fire doors to secure digital records that can follow the doorset throughout its lifecycle from installation and certification to inspections, maintenance and remedial works.
We use unique, tamper-resistant RFID tags linked to individual doorsets. The system is designed to maintain lifecycle information from manufacture and installation through inspections and ongoing compliance activity.
Can You Account for Every Fire Door in Your Building?
Fire doors can remain in a building for decades. During that time, they may be inspected, repaired, altered, maintained by different contractors or managed by different teams.
The challenge isn’t simply carrying out those activities. It’s maintaining a clear, accessible record of what happened, when it happened and which exact door it happened to.
When records are spread across spreadsheets, emails, PDFs and paper files, it becomes much harder to understand the true compliance history of each doorset.
Identify
Give each fire door a unique digital identity linked to the correct location and doorset.
Record
Keep specifications, certification, installation evidence, inspections and maintenance information connected to the individual door.
Track
Build a continuous lifecycle history instead of creating another disconnected record every time work is carried out.
How Digital Fire Door Identification Works
RFID Data Pin
Each fire door is given its own unique RFID identifier.
The tags can be fitted during manufacture or retrofitted to existing fire doors. The system uses an inside-door scan designed to prevent inappropriate remote reading.
Scan the Door
An authorised installer or inspector scans the tag using the mobile app on an NFC-enabled smartphone. There is no QR code to photograph.
The app is available for iOS and Android and can operate during inspections without an active connection, with completed information uploaded when connectivity is restored.
Access the Digital Record
The correct fire door record is retrieved, giving authorised users access to information associated with that particular doorset.
Our Digital Fire Door Installation Process
Tell Us About Your Building
We start by understanding your site, the number and types of fire doors you manage and whether the doors are existing installations or part of a new project.
We Plan Your Digital Door Rollout
Our team establishes the scope of the installation and how individual doors will be identified within your building or estate.
For existing doors, RFID identification can be retrofitted without replacing the doorset.
We Attend Site & Install the Data Pins
A Premier Fire Doors representative attends your site to carry out the agreed RFID tagging programme.
Each applicable fire door is fitted with its unique CCS Data Pin and associated with the correct location and doorset.
Each Door Is Activated & Digitally Identified
The RFID identifier is activated and linked to the corresponding fire door, creating the foundation of its digital lifecycle record.
Existing door information can then be associated with the record where available, including specifications, certification, drawings, installation information and supporting documentation.
Evidence & Records Are Connected
Depending on the agreed scope, door information, photographs and relevant evidence can be captured and added to the digital record during the rollout.
Where inspection services are included, inspection results and supporting evidence can also be recorded against the correct doorset.
Your Digital Fire Door Records Go Live
Once the doors are connected, your organisation has a central digital system for managing the ongoing fire door lifecycle.
Future inspections, maintenance activity and remedial works can continue to build the history of the individual doorsets instead of creating another disconnected record.
One Door. One Connected Record.
Your digital record can bring together information such as:
- Door identity and location
- Door specifications
- Fire-rating information
- Manufacturer information
- Certification and supporting documents
- Drawings and O&M information
- Installation records
- Installation photographs
- Inspection history
- Inspection photographs and notes
- Pass, fail and no-access results
- Maintenance activity
- Remedial works
- Evidence of completed remedials
- Lifecycle history
Your Fire Door Data Stays Yours
The information recorded about your buildings and fire doors remains under your organisation's control.
Organisations retain ownership of their fire-door data and can export or securely share their records with manufacturers, installers, inspectors and auditors.
The data is encrypted and hosted in the UK using Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
