What's the difference between FD30 & FD60 Fire Door?

The main difference is how long each door can resist fire:

  • FD30 fire doors provide 30 minutes of fire resistance
  • FD60 fire doors provide 60 minutes of fire resistance

FD30 doors are commonly used in homes, flats, and smaller buildings where 30 minutes of protection is sufficient.

FD60 doors are typically used in larger buildings or higher-risk areas (like stairwells, plant rooms, or commercial settings) where more time is needed to allow for safe evacuation and to protect escape routes.

Need help deciding which is right for your project? Contact our team or call us on 0330 122 9550 — we’re happy to help.

What type of Glazing can I choose?

All glazing provided by us is fire rated and available in the following finishes:

  • Georgian Wired Polished Plate (GWPP) – You can see the wire but it is in clear glass.
  • Clear CGI Pyroguard (Clear) – Completely clear.
  • Obscure/Frosted (Sandblasted finish to one side) – Clear glass made obscure by sandblasting one face.
Can I paint my door?

Yes! Only if it’s a plywood fire door. These can be painted or varnished using a good quality, fire-safe paint or wood finish.

We recommend avoiding heavy or textured coatings, as these could affect the door's fire performance.

Are your fire doors certified?

Yes! Our fire doors are manufactured in line with BS 476 Part 22 fire safety standards. Certification is available on request for full peace of mind.

Many of our doors also come with a unique identification label or reference sticker affixed to the top edge of the door. Please do not remove this label, as it confirms the door's fire rating and compliance.

If you need help accessing certification documents or have questions about fire door compliance, feel free to contact us or call 0330 122 9550.

Will the door match the image?

While we aim to represent our products as accurately as possible, some doors are bespoke or made to order, which means a real photo may not always be available. For your reference, we added the actual door swatches on product images. Alternatively, we provide a design drawing as a guide.

If you'd like a clearer idea of what to expect, contact us or call 0330 122 9550 — we’ll do our best to provide a more detailed image or advice wherever possible.

Still can't decide?

Share the details and upload your specs! We’ll handle the rest and get a quote over to you quickly. It’s the simplest way to get an accurate price without the back-and-forth.

Whether you’re ordering one door or managing a large project, we’re here to help make it straightforward.
